Q: I have no clue what business I could possibly create, will this work for me?
A: This is our specialty! If you are in this situation, you will start the program taking the Digital Nomad Starter Codes course (included), and filling out the accompanying Career Assessment form. Many students gain enough clarity to get started after this exercise, but if you don't that's okay too! We offer monthly "Find Your Purpose" coaching calls and our founder Christa is available for a career assessment review call (additional charge!). This is an extremely powerful coaching experience if you so choose to book one that we can almost guarantee will send you over-the-moon with hope & excitement for your new nomad career!
Q: I’d rather get a remote job, would I still be a good fit?
A: Perhaps not. There are definitely aspects of the DNLA you may love (the lifestyle & personal development content, as well as the networking events, and the workshops) but this is very much an entrepreneurship program so you might not vibe with our community as much as you could if you were into building a business. If you are already in the program and decide you want help getting a remote job, we will do our best to help but this is not our specialty.
Q: What level of education or experience do I need to succeed?
A: No specific background is needed; we believe that if the student is able to come up with an aligned business idea that they are excited by (we help with this!) and prioritize this program, anyone can have success regardless of their starting point. Our student body has a lot of diversity in terms of education, experience and even age. We have some younger students who are still in high school, others in their 20’s and 30’s who have several years of professional experience and may have even completed grad school, others who are coming from the service/hospitality/healthcare industry, some ex-blue-collar workers, and some older individuals who are 25 years into their careers! All are welcome and anyone can have success given how structured and comprehensive the DNLA is.
Q: What are the benefits of Pay-in-Full v the Payment Plan?
We encourage our students to pay in full when financially feasible for both practical and metaphysical reasons. Practically (and statistically), we have calculated that those who pay in full are more likely to succeed in the DNLA because the simple truth is that people value and take more seriously what they pay for. Metaphysically (and spiritually), people who pay in full are more energetically committed as this option leaves no possibility for bailing half way and thus naturally motivates the students to put in more effort. We love to reward those who pay in full by giving them priority access to book coaching calls with our founder Christa and also offer a lower price point for DNLA tuition.
Q: What's the time commitment needed to do well in the DNLA?
This is not such a simple answer, but we’ll do our best! The actual truth is that the more time and energy you can put into this program and the more you make it a priority, the faster you will change your life. That being said, we recommend no less than 10 hours per week on average, and no more than 40 hours per week. We want you to be engaged, but not burned out. Here’s an example of a weekly breakdown for the minimum time you should be spending on it to maximize your results:
1 hour/ week: Try to come to as many live calls & events as possible!
1 hour/ week: The video modules will walk you step-by-step through the process of building and marketing a business. It’s a lot to learn, so we recommend biting off only 1 module per week so you don’t get overwhelmed.
4 hours / week: Most modules have a homework assignment that will be pretty time consuming and thought provoking. These hours should be ones where you are alert and energized.
4+ hours / week: Some weeks will be more intense than others; for example if it’s time for you to build up your social profiles, you may spend many hours creating content for it. If you need to write your sales page copy, this also is a very time consuming project that can either take you 20 hours in one week, or an entire month if you’re only allotting 4 hours at a time.
Remember: You are signing up to this program to change your life forever, so keep your expectations in check for how long it will take to do that! The DNLA membership lasts a whole year for a reason: this process takes time! But we know you can do it if you stick to it, and we’re so honored to guide you every step of the way.
